Off the (Tour Coach) Beaten Path
Liscannor Castle

If you are a tourist heading to the Cliffs of Moher on the R478 from Ennistimon in County Clare, Ireland, you will pass through the small fishing village of Liscannor.  As you climb a hill into Liscannor, you'll see a castle ruin, but there's no signage.  Follow your nose, by taking the road next to Saint Macrehy's Church.  The castle is behind a school with a commanding view of Liscannor Bay.  So, if school is in session, getting to the castle may be difficult.  I was there on a Sunday.  No signage about the castle is in the area.
